Take Me To Higher Ground

For a few weeks now I've seen a lot of turtles crossing highways with many casualties smashed on our roadways here in Texas. I realize they are looking for higher ground, trying to escape the flooded areas due to seven weeks of constant rain.

Yesterday while driving home I found myself thinking about how I am when my life is flooded with difficult situations, how I feel the need to escape (to higher ground), yet many times not able to, I've had to stay put and just learn to swim.

There has also been times I've cried out to God and He has taken me to a higher place, by removing me out of it or dissolving the situation. You see He knows when to reach down and when to let me swim. However I have found that when I am willing to let Him lift my spirit high above the circumstances I find myself in, I realize I soar far above the floodwaters, and feel the wind of His peace wash over me. It's at that moment I know He has taken me to higher ground and a firm foundation lies beneath my feet. Instantly I experience the love and mercy of my savior and my soul is at rest in His arms.

  The Miracle and Gift Even the very first Christmas was a very busy time... Bethlehem Joseph and Mary Shepherds Angels and more angels Everyone was in the hustle and bustle of registering for the census, not even realizing the most amazing happening on earth was about to take place. Traveling to their destination of Josephs hometown to register for the census, Bethlehem was buzzing with people crowding the city streets.
